Chocolate Malt Cupcakes
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup malted milk powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions:
Turn the oven on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius and line a cupcake tin with paper liners
Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and malted milk powder in a medium-sized bowl
Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar in a separate, large bowl until fluffy and light
One egg at a time, adding and beating thoroughly after each addition
Add the vanilla extract and stir
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients gradually, starting and ending with the dry mixture and alternating with the milk
Blend until barely combined
Add the chocolate chips and fold
Spoon the batter evenly into each cupcake liner, filling it to about two thirds of the way
A toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake should come out clean after 18 to 20 minutes of baking in a preheated oven
After letting the cupcakes cool in the pan for a few minutes, move them to a wire rack to finish cooling
After the cupcakes cool, you can decorate them with your preferred chocolate malt frosting or eat them plain
